Since the publication of AGA Report No. 9 in 1998, multipath ultrasonic flow meters have become a widely used method for measuring flow in large pipelines, particularly in custody transfer of natural gas. This development is attributed to factors such as measurement accuracy, high turndown, resistance to installation effects, and cost considerations. However, like all meters, their performance can be influenced by the conditions in which they are installed. The design and operating conditions of upstream pipework affect the velocity profile of the fluid entering the meter. To reduce installation effects, the Q.Sonic-max is designed to comply with and exceed OIML R137 as well as ISO 17089 Accuracy Class 0.5, AGA9 as well as MID.
